Established in 1995, DNA Diagnostics Center (“DDC”) was founded on the belief that advancements in DNA testing should be made accessible and affordable to everyone. Dr. Eran Elhaik, creator of GPS Origins and his team are dedicated to providing accurate and reliable results in DNA testing and geneaology research. Analyzing over 800,000 autosomal markers from your DNA to pinpoint your origins, GPS Origins tests and traces your ancestry and provides a detailed personalized DNA report. GPS Origins traces your ancestors migration route and identifies your top 3 ancestral gene pools that have contributed significantly to your genetic makeup.
Customers can purchase a DNA test and report for $189.00. The GPS Origins DNA test references 862 populations, 36 gene pools, and analyzes over 800,000 markers.
The GPS Origins ancestry test is a simple, three-step process. First, order a DNA test kit online when you create your personal account. Once you receive your kit in the mail, register your kit online and follow the enclosed instructions.
To take the actual DNA test, simply swab your inner cheek with the buccal cheek swabs provided, and place in the prepaid return envelope to be sent back to the lab. Once the lab receives your specimen, results will be available for retrieval on your online account in 4 to 6 weeks.
Your detailed DNA report will begin with your Human Origin story from Africa, the cradle of humankind dating back 200,000 years. This is followed up by a story of the formation of Gene Pools (Genetic Origins) some 50,000 years ago, with results showing which are most similar to your DNA.
In addition, you will receive a map with two migration journeys, from your maternal and paternal sides, including their subsequent migration stories including ancestral points of your DNA. Finally, you will receive a summary page with links to external research to help you learn more about your genetic origin.
Customers can contact customer care via online "Contact Us" form or email and generally receive a response within one business day. You can also contact GPS Origins by regular USPS mail, or view their extensive FAQ page to answers questions you may have.
