Expert Philips Lifeline Review 2019

In a nutshell: With its advanced fall detection technology, Philips Lifeline is an excellent choice for active seniors looking for a medical alert system that works both at home and on-the-go. The devices themselves are sleek and modern, yet easy to use and durable.

Overview

If you are looking for an innovative medical alert device for yourself or a loved one, Philips Lifeline is an excellent place to start. Their medical alert devices are simple to operate and with the simple push of a button, the wearer will quickly be connected to a trained professional who will determine how to best help the person. Furthermore, their fall detection device, called AutoAlert, will automatically alert the emergency response center if the wearer falls and cannot get up or respond within a designated amount of time.

Cost

The cost of a Philips Lifeline system will depend on several factors, most importantly, whether or not the wearer uses a landline or cell phone connection. It's important to note that cellular connections must be through AT&T.

ProductCost (landline connection)Cost (cellular connection)
GoSafe 2$44.95/month-
GoSafe$54.95/month$64.95/month
HomeSafe Standard$29.95/month$41.95/month
HomeSafe with AutoAlert$44.95/month$56.95/month

The prices above do not include the one-time installation fee which can range from $99.95 to $150. There is also a $50 activation fee and a $19.99 shipping fee, although Philips often has promotions offering free shipping and activation.

Contract

Philips Lifeline does not have a sample contract online and instead, requires that you submit an online form with your information and a representative will get back to you within 1-2 business days.

Once you purchase a Philips Lifeline device you can return the product within 30 days if you are not satisfied. At any point after that, if you'd like to cancel the service, there is a $50 cancellation fee.

Equipment

Philips Lifeline equipment is known to be extremely innovative yet simple to use. Their fall detection device stands out in the industry as it is able to detect when the wearer falls based on height, orientation, and velocity, and it gives the wearer 30 seconds before automatically notifying the emergency response center.

When setting up the at-home device, the installation process of the equipment is as simple as locating a phone line jack and a power outlet. Philips recommends that you first test the device to ensure it works and that you are comfortable with the location and setup.

Customer Support

Customers can get in touch with Philips Lifeline by visiting the support page on the company's website and chatting with a Philips representative.
